PHOTOGRAPHY...

I have been an active photographer since I was a very young boy.  Photography taught me to understand light, composition, framing, and gave me the "eye" to see the "not so obvious".  Photography heightened my sense of aesthetics, color, textures, and I began to look at the world with a keener appreciation for subtlety and balance.

When most young boys were reading hot rod, sports, and hunting magazines, I was scouring every page of Popular Photography, Modern Photography, Life, Look, and National Geographic. These were high literature to me.

I studied the masters of all fields of photography... fine art, photojournalism, and advertising.  Names like Adams, Penn, Edwards, Avedon, Cartier-Bresson, & Bourke-White, were all my heroes and my mentors.  Their vision, creativity, style, and compositional skills, began to slowly seep into my brain and left behind an imprint that was impossible to ignore.

Over the years I have amassed a collection of around 10,000 slides... everything from human interest, landscapes, and seascapes, to abstracts of lava rock, and candid images of native villagers going about their daily life.

Most of this collection has been shot in the Pacific Rim... Tahiti, Fiji, Singapore, and Hawaii.  This body of work will become a source for a stock-photography site as soon as I complete the sorting, categorizing, and cataloging process.

Each acceptable image is being scanned at multiple resolutions so as to provide image versions for various applications.. i.e. art prints, web publication, print publication, advertising, etc.  I will make an announcement on the main page of this blog when I start loading selected images.  A link to the stock photography display and sales site will be placed here as well.
